On the map
HAM HILL -- Nature Reserve, Wiltshire Wildlife Trust. A very unusual small reserve with lots of rare wild flowers and butterflies. I used to walk down through here years ago, and it's an excellent spot for sledging in the winter.
Combe Gibbet -- boyhood challenge Ham Hill to Combe Gibbet in winter mud; Hillman Imp van doughnut on the drive shaft, hours in the freezing cold with cousin Bobby.
Your walk will take you right up past the gliding club, so keep your eyes open or a glider could land on your head!
